 Front Office

Cynthia Ivy

Hospital Manager

Cynthia came to CTCH in July of 2007 as their new receptionist and assisting the doctors in the exam rooms.  In March of 2008 Cynthia took on the position of Hospital Manager when Karen Tweedy retired.  Filling Karen's shoes is no easy task but Cynthia is up to the challenge.

Prior to CTCH Cynthia spent 5 years as a stay at home mom with her daughter Katelynn.  Before that, she was a clientele specialist for a large retail corporation.  Coming to work at the cat hospital was like coming home for Cynthia.  She grew up at her father's animal hospital and her first job when she was eleven was helping clean kennels and feed animals.  She has also fostered orphaned kittens and puppies for as long as she can remember.

Cynthia lives in Round Rock with her beautiful daughter Katelynn, who has inherited her mother's and her grandfather's love for animals.  They share their home with 2 dogs, Roadie and Lily, 2 very spoiled cats, Max and Jax and 3 dwarf hamsters, Chubby, Spottie and Andrew.

Cheryl Miller
Receptionist

Before coming to CTCH in May of 2008 Cheryl was already a familiar face to many of our clients because for years she managed the 7 Eleven just up the street. Cheryl's talent for dealing with the public, her caring and compassionate nature combined with her love for the cats has made her a favorite face for clients to see when they walk in the door.

Cheryl has 20 cats, many of which were abandoned and feral cats that she rescued. Before becoming a staff member Cheryl has been a devoted client for years.

Stephanie Combest

Receptionist

Stephanie is a familiar face to most of our clients that have been with us for a while.  She worked for CTCH back in January of 2006 to June of 2007.  Luckily, when CTCH asked, she aggreed to come back to the cat hospital in June of 2010.

Stephanie was born in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to Fort Worth, Texas at a young age.  Growing up, Stephanie always had animals around the house and as soon as she was old enough she started working at a local animal hospital.  She also trained horses and barrel raced.  Stephanie then went on to be a flight attendant for 15 years before moving to Round Rock.  She now shares her home with two cats, Peachy Pete and Ginger.

Dawn Shepherd
Bookkeeper

Dawn joined CTCH in September of 2007.  She has worked as a full-charge bookkeeper for various organizations since 1993.  Bookkeeper might be her job title but it definitely does not describe all that she does at the cat hospital.  Dawn's name can be heard ringing through the halls when anything needs to be fixed or figured out.  She is most definitely not afraid of getting her hands dirty.  It is not unusual for Dawn to get to CTCH and have to change scrubs because she is filthy from climbing in a ditch to rescue a scruffy looking little cat on her way to work.

Dawn moved to Texas from Virginia in 1991.  She has volunteered for a local feral cat rescue group for the past six years and has had animals all her life.  Dawn has 14 cats, 1 Great Dane, Bella, a Military Macaw, Lalye and Greg, the man who supports her passion for all animals.  Most of Dawn's friends consider her a little fanatical about cats but at CTCH she fits in perfectly.

Veterinary Technicians

Rebecca Lyons

Head Veterinary Technician

Rebecca started with CTCH in December of 2006 as a kennel tech with a passion to learn as much about cats as possible.  She became a vet tech in late 2007 and after going through CVA training, she became certified through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association in March 2008.  In September of 2011 Rebecca agreed to take on the huge responsibility of head vet tech.  She continues her education through online VSP courses and has special interests in anesthesia and helping clients solve behavior related inappropriate urination issues.

Rebecca currently resides in Austin with her husband, Preston and their two cats Travis and Tilly.  Travis was an adoption return due to behavior inappropriate urination which with love and patience is now solved.  Tilly was a stray that had a litter of kittens and then nursed a litter that was orphaned when they were only a few days old. She is now retired from kitten raising and is perfectly content to make sure that Travis is impeccably groomed and that Rebecca is awake by 5:30 am every morning to go to work.

Mandi Villcheck

Veterinary Technician

Mandi joined CTCH in September of 2009 after working at an animal hospital in Universal City for one year. Prior to that she attended college in San Marcos.

Mandi is the second of five children and grew up always having hamsters, birds, cats in the home and chickens in the yard. She is from Kerrville, Texas but now calls Round Rock home with her boyfriend of four years, Jason. They share their home with their dog, Thug the Pug and three cats Deuce, Cocoa and Penelope.

Penelope is a recent rescue kitty Mandi could not resist, because of this we knew she was going to fit in perfectly with the rest of the staff here at CTCH.

Shauna Brown

Veterinary Technician

Shauna first started working for CTCH in September of 2010.  She was drafted on the spot one very busy day at the cat hospital.  Shauna is no stranger to hard work and is wonderful with the kitties.

Shauna has lived in the Round Rock area all her life.  She is one of 9 children and has always been a lover of all animals.  Her Aunt Cheryl (one of CTCH's receptionist) has shared many stories of how even as a small child Shauna would rescue and care for the neighborhood animals.

Shauna shares her home with family and 2 dogs named Albert and Cassie.  She says she will be adding to her home but is waiting for the right cat in need to come along and steal her heart.

 Kimberly Boyd

 Veterinary Technician

Kim started with CTCH in August of 2011.  She was spotted volunteering at Shadow Cats, one of our favorite rescue groups, and was suggested for the Kennel Tech position at the cat hospital.  After showing an interest in and an aptitude for a career working with animals she has been put in training to become Vet Tech.

Kim is also interested in photography, so be looking for her work on our Facebook page.

Kim moved to Texas recently from EauClaire, Wisconsin where she was born and raised.  Kim and her husband Christian were recently married in June 2011 and migrated south to start their new life together.  They have not had any animals adopt them yet, but Kim grew up in a home full of cats, dogs, pet rats and fish so she is well aware of the difference they make in lives of those that love them.

CTCH's only concern with Kim was if she could handle the Texas heat.  However, now that she has one record breaking hot summer behind her, she is well on her way to becoming a Texan!

Support Staff

 Sharon Godwin

 Kennel Technician

Sharon moved to Round Rock from El Paso, Texas where she had lived her entire life.  It has been an adjustment but she is enjoying being a part of the Round Rock community.

Sharon started working for CTCH in December 2011.  Sharon has always cared strongly for animals and dreams of pursuing a career involving them.  She has grown up with all kinds of pets.  Currently she has 1 dog, 1 cat and a bird.  She is very interested in felines and exotics.  Sharon loves wildlife with a strong emphasis on big cats.

Sharon also enjoys writing and hopes to one day publish a book or two, but for now she is trying to learn everything she can working at CTCH.  With her level of determination and hard work, all of her dreams are well within her reach.
